5198563 international compound (often referred to as "peanut butter") is the best compound to use for smooth, consistent torquing of head bolts, main cap bolts, etc. It can be used on Detriot Diesel engines such as: IL71, V71, V92, V149, 8.2 L, 50, 55, 60, 2000, and 4000 Series.
Detroit Diesel no longer sells this compound. However, this is the exact same compound but sold by one of their largest distributors and only sold in a pint.
