Show/Hide Details
Cummins KTA, QSK, and QSV Engine Parts

The idea for the K Series was born in the late 1960's, when Cummins worked on developing a more powerful engine that could perform in the 400-600 hp range. By the time it was ready for commercial production several years later, the 1973 oil crisis and the new truck speed limit passed by the U.S. Congress (from 65 to 55 miles per hour) had modified customers' expectations: consumers were now looking for fuel efficiency over high-horsepower.

Despite adverse market conditions during its introduction, the KTA found its niche as an impressive engine with a huge power output and an incomparable 19 liter displacement for on-highway applications.

Today, KTA and QSK engines are used in various agricultural, mining, marine and military applications throughout the world.
